HC Deb 10 April 1968 vol 762 c270W
Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the effect on transport in Scotland of the increase in vehicle licence duty and of duty on hydrocarbon oils; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Lever

Detailed statistics are not available but it is estimated that the additional cost to all forms of transport, private, public, industrial and commercial, is of the order of £10 million and £6 million per year, respectively.
