HC Deb 10 April 1968 vol 762 c284W
Dr. Winstanley

asked the Postmaster-General what is the cause of the unusually long delays encountered in telephoning to exchanges in the Stoke-on-Trent area from exchanges in the Manchester area; and what steps are being taken to reduce these delays.

Mr. Mason

The service between Manchester and Stoke was interrupted during the afternoon and evening of the 11th March by a cable fault.

I am not aware of any other serious delay occurring recently between these cities but if the hon. Member has any specific occasion in mind I would be happy to make further inquiries.
