§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will initiate discussions with U Thant and with the appropriate authorities in Cyprus regarding the possibility of recruiting into the United Nations Force in Cyprus limited numbers of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot soldiers, while retaining full international command of the Force.
§ Mr. William RodgersI am obliged to my hon. Friend for putting forward this interesting idea, but, given the present situation in Cyprus, I do not think it would be helpful to pursue it.
