§ Mr. George Jegerasked the Minister 01 Housing and Local Government what proposals for increasing council house rents have been submitted to him by the Thorne Rural District Council; and whether, in considering them, he will take into account the local unemployment rate of 10.8 per cent.
§ Mr. MacCollThe Council have notified my right hon. Friend of their decision to increase average weekly rents by 3s. 8d. as from 29th June this year; I understand that no rebate scheme exists or is proposed. They are not required to seek his approval to this decision under existing legislation.
