HC Deb 09 April 1968 vol 762 c214W
55. Mr. Hooson

asked the Minister of Health if he will take steps to change the provisions for inspecting imported carcass lamb and carcass beef so that there is adequate inspection in each port through which importation takes place, and that samples are tested for possible food poisoning bacteria as a routine precaution before distribution takes place.

Mr. K. Robinson

I am satisfied that existing arrangements for dealing with carcase meat at the point of importation are adequate to secure the proper protection of the public health.
