§ 58. Mr. Costainasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if lie will give details of the advice he has given to local authorities regarding the prompt payment of interim and final moneys. including retentions, on local authority building contracts; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacCollCircular 79/67, issued on 14th December, last, urged authorities to make prompt payments, and gave detailed advice on how this might best be done. The circular also reminded authorities that they were free to agree to lower percentages for retention moneys than the recommended maxima in the R.I.B.A. standard form of contract.
