HC Deb 09 April 1968 vol 762 c230W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps were taken to safeguard the interests of the citizens of Scotland in Great Britain's application to join the European Economic Community.

Mr. Mulley

Our application for membership of the European Communities was made after full inter-departmental consultation, which ensured that the interests of Scotland were borne in mind at all stages.
