HC Deb 08 April 1968 vol 762 c174W
47. Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works how long it has been the practice to make official transport available to convey Government Whips from the House at the close of each day's business; and what cost to public funds is involved.

Mr. Mellish

The practice of providing official transport to convey the Chief Whip from the House at the close of each day's business is of long standing, and has over the years been extended to include the other Government Whips. The current cost is estimated at £1,500 a year.
