HC Deb 08 April 1968 vol 762 c169W
9. Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Minister of Social Security in what circumstances and according to what criteria, Commonwealth immigrants are repatriated to their country of origin at public expense.

Mr. Loughlin

If repatriation is likely to save public money in the long run, the Supplementary Benefits Commission is prepared to pay the cost when the immigrant wants to go back, has no prospect of setttling down here, and cannot save his return fare.
