HC Deb 05 April 1968 vol 762 c154W
Sir F. Maclean

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will state, for the first grant period under the Local Government Act 1966, the estimated reckonable expenditure of local authorities in England, the total of the specific grants and the rate support grants and the proportion of the reckon-able expenditure which these represent.

Mr. Skeffington

Separate estimates of expenditure and grants for England are not made. The information for England and Wales is as follows:

he will make a statement about the proposal of the Water Resources Board for a desk study of a Wash Barrage.

Mr. Greenwood

Yes, I have agreed that the Board may, as part of their continuing examination of possible sources of water supply for South-East England, put in hand a desk study of various schemes for the use of the Wash for water storage.
