§ Mr. Winnickasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what correspondence he has received recently from the council of the London Borough of Croydon suggesting that his Department should have a representative on a joint committee to look into Croydon's industrial problems; what reply has been sent; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacDermotI am sending the hon. Member a copy of the correspondence in question. For the reasons which have been given to the Borough Council, my right hon. Friend does not consider that it would be appropriate for the Department to be represented on the proposed committee.
