HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 c122W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the adequacy of the staff serving the Welsh Office; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

The Welsh Office, like all Government Departments, has to play its part in the measures announced by the Prime Minister on 16th January, 1968 to arrest the growth in the number of people employed in the public service. Within the limitations that this imposes, I am satisfied that my staff is adequate and I would like to pay tribute to their efficiency and zeal.
