HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 cc115-6W
Mr. Michael Heseltine

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government, in view of the present water shortage in Devon, when he expects the survey into a suitable site for a reservoir in the Dartmoor area to be completed; what action he is proposing to take to alleviate the problem in both the Holsworthy and Tavistock areas; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Greenwood

I hope that the report of the investigation required by the Joint Committee of both Houses will be ready in about two months' time.

The North Devon Water Board, who are responsible for water supplies in these areas, have asked consumers to exercise economy in the use of water during the period of shortage.
