§ Mr. Silvesterasked the President of the Board of Trade how far he has progressed with his consultations with the film industry on future legislation concerning the industry; and when he intends to publish a White Paper.
§ Mr. CroslandI have received the views of the film industry trade associations and unions and of the Cinematograph Films Council whose report was published as a White Paper last Thursday. The Government are reviewing the films legislation in the light of these recommendations. I cannot yet say when the review will be completed. I shall consider the desirability of publishing a White Paper in due course.
