HC Deb 02 April 1968 vol 762 cc73-4W
Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assessment has been made by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland of the effects of the Transport Bill on the inshore fishing industry; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

I am confident that in general the provisions of the Bill will benefit the industry, in particular by liberalising the carriers' licensing system and developing more efficient freight services in the public sector.
