HC Deb 02 April 1968 vol 762 cc55-6W
Mr. Ridley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much he has allowed, in the capital estimates for 1968–69, for compensation stock for nationalisation schemes, and for extra capital for nationalised industries to use for buying up private companies.

Mr. Diamond

No such provision is made for the issue of steel compensation stock as no new cash requirement arises in 1968–69. Net lending to the Transport Holding Company includes £10 million for the possible acquisition by negotiation of bus or road haulage interests.
