§ Mr. Delargyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what research has been made into possible carcinogenic factors in tobacco, particularly in the blending of TML and TEL additives.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsSuch research is being carried out under the auspices of the Medical Research Council and by the Tobacco Research Council, an organisation financed by the British tobacco industry. I have been unable to trace any such work on the substances named by my hon. Friend, but if he will provide me with more details I shall look into the matter further.
