§ Sir Ian Orr-Ewingasked the Minister of Technology what is the total estimated value to the European Launcher Development Organisation of Great Britain's Blue Streak launching stage.
Mr. BeanThe total cost of the currently approved E.L.D.O. development programme is approximately £238 million. An estimated £60.7 million of this total is represented by the Blue Streak Launching stage. Additionally, E.L.D.O. has benefited to the extent of some £65 million in respect of the research and development which had already been done on the Blue Streak launcher prior to its first being made available to the Organisation.
