§ Mr. Pavittasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will introduce legislation to have all packaged food items clearly marked with the date of manufacture and the last date by which the food should be consumed.
§ Mr. HoyNo. In the light of the advice of the Food Standards Committee and of the representations my right hon. Friend has received on the proposed new regulations on food labelling, he is satisfied that the balance of advantage is against compulsory date stamping.
