§ 50. Mr. Roebuckasked the Minister of Technology if he is aware that the guarantees given by United Kingdom motor car manufacturers in respect of their products sold in the United Kingdom are inferior to those given for vehicles they export to certain countries; and whether he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to ensure that purchasers at home are treated no less favourably than those abroad.
§ Mr. BennThe guarantees given by U.K. motor car manufacturers for their products are only one element in their marketing policy. It does not seem to me to be unreasonable that they should differ from market to market. I do not believe that legislation of the kind suggested would be desirable.
