§ Mr. Brewisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what will be the saving in Exchequer grants to local authorities in Scotland consequent on the recent legal decision that intensive livestock buildings are to be fully rated.
§ Mr. RossThere will be no saving, because the total rate support grant is fixed: but the apportionment between local authorities of the resources element of the grant will reflect any above-average increase in rating resources in areas where these buildings are situated.
