§ Mr. Barnettasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to introduce a new Income Tax Act consolidating all the new tax measures introduced since the Income Tax Act 1952.
§ Mr. CallaghanA Bill to consolidate the capital allowance provisions, will be introduced at the beginning of next Session. Work is now in progress on the consolidation of the rest of the Income Tax and Corporation Tax law. Preliminary legislation in a Finance Bill will probably be needed; I cannot be definite at this stage, but I hope that it may be possible to introduce the consolidation Bill in time to come into force on 6th April 1970.
