§ Mr. Roy JenkinsSubject to section 4 of the Protection of Birds Act, 1954, the oystercatcher at present enjoys complete protection throughout England and Wales, save in three restricted areas where there is a need to protect local cockle fisheries, and in respect of which it is listed in Schedule 2 to the Act.
