§ Mr. SkeffingtonIn Bristol there were 10,600 rebates in the first half of 1966–67 and 12,300 in the second; the amounts involved were £74,500 and £88,500 respectively.
In Mangotsfield there were 561 rebates in the first half of 1966–67 and 502 in the second; the amounts involved were £4,868 and £4,330 respectively.
I have no information about the number of applications made. But a local authority has no discretion in the granting of rebates; every application which satisfies the criteria laid down by Parliament must be granted.
