§ Sir J. Gilmourasked the Minister of Public Building and Works if he will arrange to put down disinfectant pads in the Palace of Westminster to guard against the possibility of hon. Members coming from constituencies where foot-and-mouth disease is present passing it to hon. Members from other areas who might then carry back infection.
§ Mr. MellishNo. I am advised by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food that there is little or no risk of hon. Members transmitting the disease in the way mentioned. If hon. Members wish to help avoid spreading infection, my right hon. Friend asks that they keep away from farms.
