HC Deb 24 November 1967 vol 754 c435W
Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what official receptions have recently been given for members of the South African Government and South African Members of Parliament; what was the cost of such receptions; and what were the reasons they were held.

Mr. William Rodgers

No official reception has been given during recent months for any members of the South African Government.

An official reception, which cost approximately £100, was given on 13th November, 1967, for a group of five visitors from South Africa, including three members of Parliament, who were in this country as Government guests. This reception was to enable the visitors to renew contacts made during the course of their visit and to allow others an opportunity to meet them.
