§ Mr. Roy JenkinsThe establishment of basic grade officers in the Hertfordshire probation service is 41; the present strength is 37. Salary negotiations for probation officers are due to begin shortly. During 1967 there has been a planned increase in the number of supervisory posts in the probation service in England and Wales, with a resultant improvement in career prospects.
