§ Mr. Buchanan-Smithasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will announce the result of his discussions with the National Trust regarding the culling of seals on the Fame Islands.
§ Mr. PeartAs the National Trust felt themselves unable, on the basis of their existing information, to agree to a continuation of the cull of seals on the Fame Islands, the Natural Environment Research Council suggested to me that it would be desirable to have a review of the scientific facts and their interpretation by a wide range of scientific opinion. The Council is arranging a meeting of scientists for this purpose as soon as possible, probably in the New Year.
