§ Mr. Onslowasked the Minister of Public Building and Works why a temporary General Post Office sorting office in Woking remains in use after planning permission has expired; and why this building has been extended without consultation with the planning authority.
§ Mr. MellishI understand that the Surrey County Council are not objecting to the temporary use of this site for a sorting office. I regret that by an oversight a further approach was not made to the council when the original period of five years expired. It is normal for reasonable extensions to be made to existing buildings without further consultation and the small extension in question here was dealt with accordingly. The future of the whole site is now under review.
