§ Mr. CarmichaelWe have received a memorandum from the Northern Regional Council of the Labour Party proposing that a Regional Transport Authority should be set up for the North-East. The Government's proposals for setting up Passenger Transport Authorities will be set out in a White Paper on Passenger Transport which is to be published soon. The council has been informed that we expect to arrange for its views to be discussed in the near future.
