HC Deb 15 November 1967 vol 754 c132W
110. Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how the success rate of the short-term weather forecasts for October, 1967, compared with the average rate of success; and whether any special circumstances contributed to a falling-off below average.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The accuracy of the daily forecasts issued each morning and evening in October was about average except for the evening forecasts for Wales, which were below average. There were no special circumstances but such departures from average must be expected from time to time.
