HC Deb 15 November 1967 vol 754 cc138-9W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many cases of animal medicine smuggling have been investigated; and what were the results.

Mr. Harold Lever

Several allegations have been investigated, but no cases of smuggling have been detected.

Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is satisfied that all steps are being taken to prevent animal medicines being smuggled into this country; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Lever

I have no reason to suppose that the present precautions by the Customs are inadequate.
