asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now make a statement on the foot-and-mouth outbreak.

Mr. Jopling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what is the latest number to date of outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease which have occurred in the present outbreaks;

(2) whether he is satisfied with the number of veterinary surgeons available to cope with the present outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease; and if he will make a statement.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) how many cattle and sheep have been slaughtered in the current outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease; what is the cost of compensation; and whether he will make a statement;

(2) what additional staff has been employed during the current outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease; and whether he will make a statement.
