HC Deb 14 November 1967 vol 754 cc75-6W
65 and 66. Mr. Grimond

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) when a British computer will be available for the University of Aberdeen; and what is to be offered to the university in the interim period;

(2) when Aberdeen University will get a computer.

Miss Bacon

The Computer Board expect that a British computer will be installed at Aberdeen in April, 1968.

I am aware of the difficulties which have arisen at Aberdeen. But I understand that in the view of the Board it would not be practicable to make interim arrangements to meet the university's need for on-site computing facilities.
