HC Deb 09 November 1967 vol 753 c151W
43. Sir D. Walker-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will call for reports from chief constables as to the respective spheres of action of the police and university authorities following on violent or riotous behaviour by students.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I have received a report from the Chief Constable of the Mid-Anglia Constabulary on the recent incident at Cambridge, but it contains nothing to suggest that any general inquiry into the respective responsibilities of the police and university authorities is required.
