HC Deb 09 November 1967 vol 753 c147W
39. Mr. John Hall

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science in what areas and in how many schools the number of immigrant children exceeds 30 per cent. of the total number of children attending.

Mr. Denis Howell

In January, 1967, there were no local education authority areas in England and Wales in which the number of immigrant pupils exceeded 30 per cent. of all the pupils in the area. There were at that date 444 schools in 40 local education authority areas in which the number of immigrant pupils exceeded 30 per cent. of the school roll.
