§ Mr. HattersleyAccording to the latest annual report of the Engineering Industry Training Board 307,500 people are estimated to have been under training in the industry at different levels of skill in October, 1965. By the end of this month the Board will have opened 20 training centres providing over 1,650 training places for craftsmen and technicians.
In Government Training Centres 2,300 workers were being trained for engineering occupations on 9th October, 1967. There are now 38 such Centres. Their present annual output of engineering trainees is about 4,650 but this figure will increase rapidly as we extend our training facilities.
