asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has investigated the desirability of a more extended use of boats made from fibre glass roving for use by the armed forces.

Yes. We use glass reinforced plastic for Service craft wherever

The unit price of the aircraft is about £1.3 million. The total costs of the Phantom programme are now assessed at around £700 million over a ten year period.
