HC Deb 09 November 1967 vol 753 cc161-2W
Rear-Admiral Morgan Giles

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what aircraft it is now intended should replace the Anglo-French variable geometry aircraft, as the core of Great Britain's defence policy.

Mr. Healey

I would refer the hon. and gallant Gentleman to the statement that I made on 25th October in reply to the hon. Members for Banbury (Mr. Marten) and for St. Albans (Mr. Goodhew). Since the Anglo-French variable geometry aircraft was never the core of Great Britain's defence policy, there is no question of replacing it in this rôle.—[Vol. 751, c. 1726–8.]
