§ Mr. CarmichaelThere are some types of road, for example main roads other118W than dual carriageways, where a limit of 60 m.p.h. could be appropriate. The Ministry and the Road Research Laboratory are currently studying this possibility. In addition, the relationship between speed, speed limits and accident rates on various classes of road is a continuing item of research in the Laboratory's programme.
