§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Technology what study he is making of pollutants in the form of radioactive waste from nuclear reactors.
§ Dr. BrayIn England the Ministers of Agriculture and Housing are responsible for authorising the disposal of radioactive waste. In Scotland and Wales these responsibilities are exercised by the respective Secretaries of State. Studies are undertaken by the Departments concerned and by the Atomic Energy Authority, the Agricultural Research Council, the Medical Research Council and various university laboratories. The disposal of radioactive waste is also the subject of continuous international study in which the U.K. plays an active part.
