§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will cause the Mid-Wales Development Corporation, which he proposes to set up, to draw up a plan for the co-ordinated development of the main towns of mid-Wales;
(2) what machinery there is at present for planning the co-ordinated development of the mid-Wales towns.
§ Mr. Cledwyn HughesThe first objective of the Corporation will be the expansion of Newtown. The development of the other towns is primarily a matter for the local authorities helped by the Mid-Wales Industrial Development Association and any necessary co-ordination is done by the Welsh Office.
