§ 95. Mrs. Joyce Butlerasked the Minister of Health if he will appoint a committee of inquiry to investigate experiments on human beings for purposes of medical research and to make recommendations.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonNo. Comprehensive guidance to doctors was given in this matter by the Medical Research Council in its Reports for 1962–63 (Command 2382, pages 21–25), and in September, 1964, hospital authorities were asked to bring this guidance to the attention of all hospital doctors.
If my hon. Friend cares to draw my attention to any subsequent specific case in which there is prima facie evidence that the guidance has not been followed by hospital doctors in England and Wales, I shall be glad to look into it.
