§ Mr. Andersonasked the Minister of Power whether, in view of the fact that Spencer Works, Llanwern, is in danger 307W of not being developed to its full capacity by reason of its being sited outside the Welsh Development Area, he will on vesting day give a direction to the National Steel Corporation that all decisions relating to investment in new or expanding plant shall be based primarily on the needs of the steel industry as a whole and not on eligibility for investment grants.
§ Mr. MarshNo. The Corporation in making such decisions will already be subject to the duty laid on them by the Iron and Steel Act of promoting the efficient and economical supply of iron and steel products by the nationalised industry.
