§ Mr. Deanasked the Attorney General if he is aware that there is confusion about the present legal liability of the owners of farm animals which cause damage to persons, property or motorists while straying on the public highways; and what proposals he has for amending the law.
The Attorney GeneralI am aware that this branch of the law is not in a satisfactory state. It is at present under consideration by the Law Commission as part of their First Programme and I understand that they will be submitting to the Lord Chancellor detailed proposals for legislation.
