§ Mr. Manuelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress he has made in preparing for the development of the new town at Irvine.
§ Mr. RossI am glad to say that Mr. A. W. Hardie has accepted my invitation to be chairman of the Development Corporation. Mr. Hardie will relinquish in July his appointment as vice-chairman of Cumbernauld Development Corporation. I hope to announce soon the names of the other Corporation members. I will be making available to the Corporation, and also publishing shortly, a report prepared by Mr. Hugh Wilson containing planning proposals for the new town area.
