HC Deb 09 May 1967 vol 746 c202W
72. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Minister of Social Security how many persons in the area covered by the Easington parliamentary division are in receipt of supplementary allowances.

Mr. Pentland

I regret this information is not available, as the Ministry's offices serving the Easington parliamentary division, namely Houghton-le-Spring, Hartlepool North, Hartlepool South, and Durham, also serve a large area outside that parliamentary division. On 28th March in this whole area about 17,300 people were receiving supplementary pensions and 8,500 were receiving supplementary allowances.
