HC Deb 09 May 1967 vol 746 c210W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will consider remitting to the Police Advisory Committee for further consideration the question of colour-blindness and its effect in causing otherwise suitable police recruits to be rejected.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The Police Advisory Board Working Party on Manpower last year considered the minimum medical standards for recruits to the police service but made no recommendation about colour-blindness. I have received no evidence which suggests that further consideration of the question of colour-blindness is desirable.
