§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will consider remitting to the Police Advisory Committee for further consideration the question of colour-blindness and its effect in causing otherwise suitable police recruits to be rejected.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsThe Police Advisory Board Working Party on Manpower last year considered the minimum medical standards for recruits to the police service but made no recommendation about colour-blindness. I have received no evidence which suggests that further consideration of the question of colour-blindness is desirable.
