Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in considering the report of the inquiry into the suitability of Stansted as the site for London's new airport, he will initiate research with a view to determining a suitable site for a further international airport on the coast.

Considerable work has already been done in assessing the advantages and drawbacks of the most promising coastal sites for an airport to serve London.
