HC Deb 04 May 1967 vol 746 c117W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) what steps have been taken by Her Majesty's Government under the Chicago Convention or in accordance with the terms of any bilateral agreements for civil aviation entered into by the United Kingdom to notify contracting States that no supersonic flight over the British Isles will be allowed;

(2) what steps he is taking to ensure that supersonic aircraft flying outside the territorial limits of the United Kingdom do not cause disturbance inside those limits.

Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

No conclusions have as yet been reached about the restrictions to be placed on supersonic civil flying over the United Kingdom and surrounding areas. It will be several years before regular operations of this type could take place.
